Abstract
Major vegetable crop cultivars have been registered about 1791 in Korea. It is very difficult work to identify their phenotypic assay in the field. This study was conducted to investigate the possibility of isozymes polymorphisms to identify the cultivars and to test purity of seed in radish and Chinese cabbage. F, and its parent lines of radish and Chines cabbage bred from National Horticultural Research Institute were used. Phosphoglucomutase (PGM) were effective to test purity of seed. Esterase (EST) and glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase (GOT) were effective to identify the cultivars in radish and Chinese cabbage. To identify cultivar and test of seed purity, the most effective isozyme was AcPH. This result suggested that polymorphism of isozymes will be effective on identification of different cultivars and testing seed purity in radish and Chinese cabbage.
